I approached my friend as she sat at her work desk knowing full well that she would probably be onboard for this request.

“So you want to do a drawing of me for my birthday?” J.H. asked, suspiciously.

“Yep,” I responded.

It was time for me to write about information architecture.

I knew all the basics and where it came from.

But the real question to me was — what’s it really all about? To get a better handle on it I decided to check out some talks on the topic.

Task Analysis Mapping is all the rage with those in the know of the UX world.

Which means “painting rooms” is just as hip.

If you google the term, “Task Analysis”, you’ll see that the “painting walls” example or some iteration seems to come up a lot.
